Biographical Info

I was born in Anytown CA and moved seven times in 12 years due to my father's job. The experience taught me how to meet new people and make new friends. I played soccer, basketball, and golf and have become a 10 handicap golfer. I won a 13 and under regional golf tournament when I was 12. I am a 3 year varsity member of the State College Golf team. I have a younger sister and older brother.

Employment

I was a lab assistant at ABC Biotech the past two summers, 2004 and 2005. I recorded lab results and helped the team responsible for a new cancer treatment currently in trials. I improved the reporting of test results (see my case study).

Education

I will be graduating with a B.S. in Biotechnology from State College in May of this year. I have been on the Deans List the last two years. I finished in the top 10% of my class at Anytown High School and was captain of my golf team my junior and senior years. I completed leadership training at Camp Lake in the summer of 2001.

Case Studies

My challenge at ABC Biotech was to research and determine the best software to use to organize our test results. We had been using Excel spreadsheets which were cumbersome and difficult to work with. We spent 10 hrs each week editing the spreadsheets into our reports. Based on my recommendation we purchased ORGSOFt which allowed us to post results directly on our intranet in only 2hrs. The cost of the software paid for itself in productivity gains in only 3 months.

Hobbies

Sports including golf, softball, and tennis. I enjoy reading Harry Potter and other novels. I love Italian and Mexican food. I want to travel to other countries to learn about other cultures.
